Your Weekly Roundup

Dear reader,

Welcome back to Tufts! As classes get underway, we are so excited to be resuming production and publication of The Tufts Daily for the Fall 2022 semester. This semester, we will be printing weekly, on Thursdays, and publishing online at tuftsdaily.com on all other days. For the first time since 2020, we've expanded distribution back to pre-pandemic levels, with the Daily now available at more than 20 locations both on and off campus (check out our distribution map below!).

Please note that we will be in half production for the first three weeks of the semester, meaning we will publish every other day until Sept. 26, when we will begin full production. To learn more about what you can expect from the Daily this fall, click here to read our recent Letter from the Managing Board.

We very much appreciate your continued subscription to our newsletter and are looking forward to connecting with you, our readers, this semester. And if you’re a Tufts student interested in joining us, we’d love to have you. Please visit tuftsdaily.com/join-us to get involved.

Sincerely,
The Fall 2022 Managing Board
NEWS | Tufts shows support for Harvard, UNC in Supreme Court affirmative action case

Tufts joined 32 other colleges and universities in signing an amicus curiae brief for the Supreme Court of the United States affirming the legality of race-conscious college admissions. The brief, filed by Amherst College on Aug. 1, expresses support for Harvard College and the University of North Carolina in their ongoing legal battle to maintain students’ race as a factor in college admissions decisions.

The amicus brief, signed by many selective colleges and universities with holistic admissions processes, states that race-conscious admissions processes help to create “the educational benefits of a diverse student body and the societal benefits of educating diverse future leaders.”
