NEWS | Breanna Lungo-Koehn, Will Mbah lead in Medford and Somerville mayoral preliminary elections

In Somerville, at-large City Councilor Will Mbah and Ward 7 City Councilor Katjana Ballantyne look set to face off in November’s general election for mayor to replace longtime Mayor Joe Curtatone after an extremely close preliminary election that saw first and third place separated by only 415 votes. 

Incumbent Breanna Lungo-Koehn and City Councilor John Falco came out on top of Tuesday’s three-way preliminary election and will advance to November’s general election for the Medford mayorship. READ MORE

Tufts increases testing frequency to twice weekly for undergraduate students

Tufts announced that all undergraduate students would be tested for COVID-19 twice per week, a departure from a previous policy of weekly testing that had been in place since students began arriving on campus. This change in testing cadence has arisen in response to rising COVID-19 case numbers among fully vaccinated individuals on campus, which university officials have attributed to the highly transmissible Delta variant. READ MORE

SPORTS Women’s soccer beats Williams for first time since 2006 in season opener
In their last game of the 2019 season, the Tufts Jumbos were defeated 2–1 by the Williams Ephs in the 2019 NCAA Sweet 16.
