Tufts field hockey ends season 15–5

Tufts field hockey faced the Middlebury Panthers in the NCAA regional final, also known as the “Elite Eight,” on Sunday. The Jumbos and Panthers fought tooth and nail for the first half; however, Middlebury ultimately pulled off the 2–0 win. This loss ended Tufts' season with a strong 15–5 record.

Field hockey advances to second round of NCAA tournament

Despite falling short in NESCAC playoffs this past weekend, Tufts field hockey received an at-large bid and now has its sights set on the National Championship. The Jumbos earned their spot in the second round after a 1–0 win over Rhode Island’s Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday night. Tufts now stands at 14–4 for the season.

​​Field hockey shuts out Trinity, loses to Middlebury in overtime

Tufts field hockey played in its first away doubleheader of the season this weekend, in which the team traveled to both Trinity and Middlebury College. The No. 4 ranked Jumbos faced the No. 5 ranked Bantams on Saturday and the No. 1 ranked Panthers on Sunday. Both the Bantams and Panthers are NESCAC opponents, making these two games highly anticipated conference matchups.

Field hockey falls to Babson in first away game of the season

Tufts field hockey traveled to nearby Babson College for its first away game of the season on Tuesday. This non-conference matchup featured two top-20 opponents: TheJumbos were ranked No. 3 and the Beavers No. 13 nationally. The Jumbos entered the match undefeated with a 4–0 record and the Beavers 6–1, with their only loss against Middlebury College. However, after 68 minutes of play, the Jumbos ultimately fell to the Beavers 1–0 in overtime.

Field hockey outscores opponents 18–1 in first 4 games

Returning to competition for the first time since 2019, Tufts field hockey kicked off its season against conference foe Williams at Ounjian Field on Sept. 11. The Jumbos entered the match ranked fourth in the nation, while the Williams Ephs ranked 10th in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's preseason poll. Now four games into the 2021 season, the Jumbos boast a perfect record of 4–0, outscoring their opponents with an impressive 18–1.

Fall sports prepare to compete after cancelled 2020–21 seasons

In 2019, Tufts men’s soccer won its third NCAA National Championship in four years, Tufts volleyball finished with a remarkable 28–2 record and many more notable athletic accomplishments marked an amazing fall for Tufts Athletics. However, after an unprecedented spring without athletic competitions and a summer with the COVID-19 pandemic in full force, all competition was cancelled for the fall and winter of 2020–21. Now, almost two years later, Tufts fall athletes are eager to be able to compete again.

Tufts swim and dive stages intrasquad meet, celebrates senior class

This past weekend provided an opportunity for the swimmers to showcase their hard work and put it to the test by competing against one another. The team competed for three days during its typical practice times. Each individual raced in one or two events of their choice. In addition to allowing the team members to compete, the weekend was about celebrating a senior class that has dedicated so much to the program over the past four years.
