Wellness center resolution receives support from TCU Senate, lacks tangible response from administration

The proposed wellness center would provide a dedicated space for mindfulness and offer wellness programming, mental health resources and stress-reduction activities, according to Alswanger. Collins, however, echoed Bowdler’s concerns surrounding the resources needed to realize the center, and emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic is Tufts’ priority at this time.

Tufts admits record-low 11% of undergraduate applicants

The record-low acceptance rate follows a 35% increase in the number of applicants, which rose in part due to Tufts' SAT/ACT test-optional policy and the robust array of virtual engagement programming offered to prospective students. It is the most ethnically and racially diverse undergraduate class ever admitted to the university.

Somerville opens new high school amid slow return to in-person learning

In addition to the populations returning to in-person school on March 4 and March 18, other Somerville students will gradually return in person through the rest of March and April. All students between pre-kindergarten and eighth grade are expected to be back in person by April 29, utilizing hybrid learning models. However, this does not include students in grades 9–12 who are not in high needs special education programs or multilingual learning lab students.

Tufts sees 35% increase in undergraduate applications

Undergraduate applications for the Class of 2025 soared 35% since last year, with the most ethnically and racially diverse first-year applicant pool ever. More than 31,190 students applied for admission to the Class of 2025, which is the largest applicant pool in Tufts’ history, and for the first time, students of color make up a majority of U.S. applicants.
