Set with a piano, a glitter curtain and countless costumes, the night begins with an opening number titled ‘“Forbidden Broadway’ Comes to Boston.” Tailored for the run at the Emerson Colonial Theater in Boston, it lets the audience in on the secret of what is about to unfold. The premise is simple: Take famous musical theater songs and roles but change the lyrics to spoof current and beloved Broadway shows.
