Ruby Franke: ‘Momfluencer’ turned felon

Just over a year ago, former family vlogger Ruby Franke from Springville, Utah was sentenced to prison for child abuse, sparking a movement to pass legislation aimed at protecting children featured in social media content. Earlier this month, Utah became the fourth state — and the first red state — to enact such legislation.

Trunks Full of Treasures: Past On Vintage brings thrifting to Tufts campus

Thomas Gradente, founder of Past On Vintage, has been a highlight among students at Tufts University for nearly 15 years, bringing incredible vintage finds and vinyl records to campus. He has hosted several pop-up shops this past falland most recently held a pop-up in the Mayer Campus Center on Feb. 11. In addition to his pop-ups at Tufts, Gradente has organized events at Connecticut College, Wesleyan University, the University of Hartford and Trinity College.

Trunks Full of Treasures: Exciting vintage finds at Found

Begun by husband and wife duo Rob Singh and Megan Fehling-Singh, Found has expanded from running Fenway Flea to a series of vintage pop-up events and ultimately establishing permanent curated vintage stores in Boston. After doing a video about Fenway Flea, Singh and Fehling-Singh reached out to videographer Sam Clovers and asked if she wanted to make videos for their new project called Found. Together, the trio launched Found in February 2023.

Trunks Full of Treasures: Discover the vintage wonderland at Select Markets

If you’re searching for fur hats, leather jackets or cashmere knit sweaters, Select has it all, with vintage clothing pop-up events across Boston. Founded in 2023 by Northeastern students Joshua Maizes and Joaquin Crosby-Lizarde, Select has become the heart of thrifting in Boston. Maizes and Crosby-Lizarde plan to continue running the organization full-time after they graduate in May.

Stand-up comedian Mekki Leeper takes the stage at Tufts

On Friday, the Tufts University Social Collective hosted a winter comedy show in Cohen Auditorium featuring comediansMekki Leeper and Zoe Zakson. This is TUSC’s first comedy show since 2021, and they definitely did not disappoint with witty jokes about STEM majors, liberal arts schools and the struggles of growing up with strict parents.
