Giants win Game 7 by a score of 3-2

The San Francisco Giants won Game 7 of the World Series by a score of 3-1, giving the Giants their third World Championship in the last five years.

The Giants kicked off the scoring in the top of the 2nd inning with a pair of sacrifice flies from DH Michael Morse and SS Brandon Crawford. The Royals answered immediately with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 2nd from a RBI double by LF Alex Gordon and a sacrifice fly by 2B Omar Infante.

Both teams turned to their bullpens early in the game, with Giants’ starter Tim Hudson being pulled after recording just five outs and Royal’s starter being pulled with one out in the fourth inning after an RBI single from Morse gave the Giants a 3-2 lead.

Both bullpens performed well for the remainder of the game, highlighted by Giants starter Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner came into the game to start the bottom of the fifth, and proceeded to close out the game, solidifying the Giants’ 3-2 win.
