Tufts outdoor track teams have robust start at Snowflake Classic

The Tufts men’s and women’s track teams had an excellent weekend as the hosts of the Snowflake Classic, held at the Clarence “Ding” Dussault Track and Field Complex. While some athletes raced over spring break in San Diego at the Point Loma Nazarene University Collegiate Invitational, this weekend was the first all-team meet and the official season opener for the men and women.

Jaidyn Appel, Lia Rotti win individual national championships in track and field

Tufts women’s indoor track and field team performed extremely well in the NCAA Division III Championships this past weekend. With four athletes competing in separate events, the team accrued 20 points all together, enough for an eighth place overall finish. Two Jumbos won individual national championships in their respective events, with junior Jaidyn Appel winning the high jump and junior Lia Rotti winning the triple jump.

Tufts indoor track teams continue to shine

The Tufts men’s and women’s indoor track teams had a busy weekend competing in both the Branwen Smith-King Multi and Tufts Cupid Challenge. Due to snowstorm rescheduling, the Branwen Smith-King Multi was pushed back a week for competing athletes. In spite of the extra effort, both teams had a strong showing.

Twinhood can be a complicated relationship — it can be like having an ingrained best friend, or it can encourage constant competition. Many children who are not twins might romanticize the idea. "The Parent Trap" (1998) made the relationship seem appealing with its depiction of mischievous pranks and adventures. However, according to three sets of twins at Tufts, having a person with whom you share almost everything, including your college, is a more nuanced experience.

Coaching in COVID-19: How athletics staff adapted
