In Photos: Día de los Muertos

The Tufts Latinx Center and Mexican Culture Club held a Día de los Muertos celebration with the Tufts University Social Collective on Saturday. The event in Curtis Hall featured food, live mariachi music and dances by Ballet Folklórico. Guests could place a photo and ofrenda on an altar to honor the memory of loved ones who have passed.

In Photos: Volleyball takes down Endicott

Look back at Tufts volleyball’s 3–0 victory over Endicott College as the Jumbos head into the postseason. In their penultimate regular season match on Oct. 30, Tufts swept Endicott in three sets, 26–24, 25–20 and 25–14. Tufts, the No. 3 seed in the NESCAC tournament, faces Williams College at home this Friday at 6 p.m.

Applejam Productions presented its annual Halloween cover show on Friday night. The lineup included the bands Toolbox, Cutting Corners, Not Your Bubbe’s Klezmer, Call from Earth, Flies for Fly Fishing, Drift, The 128s and Graperoots.

Performing arts groups took the stage at the Avenue of the Arts Festival on Saturday, one of the Parents and Family Weekend events. Along the length of Talbot Avenue, performances ranged from a capella, to opera, to musical theater.

In Photos: Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

The indigenous students’ organization at tufts hosted the Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration on Sunday on the Res Quad. The event programs highlighted indigenous performances, guest speakers and vendors. Attendees could sample Wampanoag cuisine catered by Orange Peel Bakery and poke from Manoa Poke. Tufts student groups Ballet Folklórico and Tufts Bhangra were among the invited performers.

In Photos: TUSC says ‘Prost!’ at Oktoberfest

The Tufts University Social Collective organized the annual Oktoberfest senior event on Saturday. Students enjoyed festival foods catered by The Sausage Guy and live performances by The Oom Pa Pas, a local German music band, on the Academic Quad.

Over 2,500 attendees turned out to Tufts Community Day on Sunday. The free event on the Academic Quad featured family-friendly activities, performances and a barbecue lunch. Local organizations and Tufts groups alike tabled at the fair.
