Tufts junior and computer science major dies in accident

The university released an announcement earlier this evening stating that junior Julia Lee, a computer science major in the College of Liberal Arts, died in a car accident in New Zealand yesterday while traveling with her family.

Lee's parents were also killed in the accident, while her younger brother is still hospitalized. Lee was preparing to study abroad this semester at the University of Auckland through a program with Arcadia University.

A community gathering will be held tonight at 9:00 p.m. in Goddard Chapel for anyone wishing to pay respects and mourn Lee's passing. A second gathering will take place tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.

The announcement noted that anyone close to Lee may contact University Chaplain Greg McGonigle if interested in preparing a tribute to her life. More information will become available as a celebration of Lee's life is planned for campus.
