Royale-ly Intoxicated

At 8:00 p.m. on Feb. 7, the Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) transported an intoxicated female student from Winter Ball at the Royale Boston back to the Tufts campus. Upon arrival on campus, the student was allowed to sign a refusal of treatment form.

Wasted Winter Wonderland

Another intoxicated female student on the night of Winter Ball was reported to TUPD at 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 7. The student’s boyfriend had transported her back from the event to her off-campus residence. She was subsequently transported to Somerville Hospital.

TUPD further commented that besides the above two incidents, Winter Ball ran smoothly this year, especially in comparison to previous years, when the event was known as Winter Bash. For example, there was no evidence of intoxicated students in the lines for the transport buses this year. In previous years, TUPD officers often had to remove drunken students from the lines and arrange for them to be transported to the hospital.
