Softball looks to stay atop the nation in 2016

With the 2016 season about to start, Tufts softball is getting very close to cementing its legacy as one of the most successful programs in the history of college athletics. As back-to-back-to-back Div. III national champions, softball is undoubtedly Tufts’ current strongest athletics team, though men’s lacrosse gives them a run for their money. But as the […]

Men’s swimming and diving races to second at NESCAC Championships

Capping off arguably its best season in the last several years, Tufts finished second overall at last weekend’s NESCAC Championships at Williams College for the first time since 2010. As expected, perennial NESCAC champion Williams took the top spot, finishing with a 1,789.5 score, while Conn. College, Amherst and Bates rounded out the top five. The final event of the […]

Jumbos take seventh at NESCAC Championships again

Tufts women’s swimming and diving competed at this weekend’s NESCAC Championships at Middlebury College, finishing seventh overall for the third year in a row. That performance, though a disappointment for a team that had high hopes to improve its standing in the conference at this year’s championships, ends a 2015-2016 campaign that saw the Jumbos have […]

First-year-heavy Tufts team heads to NESCAC Championships this weekend

Tufts women’s swimming looks to cap off its best season since its 2011-2012 campaign with a strong showing at this weekend’s NESCAC Championships at Middlebury College. With a 4-3 record in head-to-head meets this season, the Jumbos finish the regular season with a winning record for the first time in the last four years, likely improving […]

Strong performances set Tufts up for NESCAC Championships

A contingent of Jumbos traveled to Vermont this past weekend to compete at the Middlebury Invitational, an unscored, non-conference meet held on Friday and Saturday. Tufts faced off against swimmers from Williams, the University of Vermont and Springfield College, as well as those from the host, Middlebury. Though the lack of scoring resulted in no team winner, several Jumbos turned in […]

Tufts bests Wheaton College on Seniors Day

On Saturday, Tufts women’s swimming and diving welcomed Wheaton College to Hamilton Pool for its only home meet of the season. The meet also served as Tufts’ Seniors Day, honoring the accomplishments of nine members of the Class of 2016. Seniors Shivani Bigler, Maddie Golison, Randi Katz, Moira Lavelle, Molly Levene, Sarah Mahoney, Claire Mullany, Katharine Pong and […]

Tufts finishes last at MIT Invitational

This past weekend, Tufts competed at the MIT Invitational. The three-day tournament started on Friday, Dec. 4 and wrapped up on Sunday, Dec. 6. Seven other teams competed at MIT in addition to the host and Tufts: NYU, Wellesley, SUNY New Paltz, LIU Brooklyn, Wheaton and Keene State. Columbia, a Div. I program, ended up the […]

The biggest 2016 Grammy nomination snubs

The nominations for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, highlighting the best and brightest talents in the music industry, were released Monday morning and, as always, caused a bit of controversy. Though the committee recognized many deserving artists, many more musicians were not recognized, and my job is to right those wrongs. Without further ado, here are your […]

The best fictional colleges from film and television

The only thing that might be more enjoyable than actually attending college is watching the countless television shows and movies that focus on the best four years of your life. This list goes over some of my favorite fictional colleges. Greendale Community College NBC’s “Community” (2009-2015) is not only a great binge-watching choice for finals season, […]

On Nov. 21, Tufts wrapped up its season at the 2015 NCAA Div. III Men’s Cross Country Championship at Winneconne, Wis.
