Today Americans head to the polls to cast their vote in the mid-term elections, which will decide whether Republicans or Democrats will control the Senate.

12:52am - Baker will speak at 1:00 am to his supporters still gathered at campaign watch party. NBC, ABC have called race for Baker.

12:05am - Coakley will not concede to Baker tonight, candidate for lieutenant governor Steve Kerrigan, a Democrat, said.

11:28pm - CBS News reports that Republicans have claimed a majority in the Senate for the first time in eight years, gaining six additional seats from North Carolina, Colorado, West Virginia, Arkansas, South Dakota and Montana.

10:49pm - One hundred votes separate Coakley from Baker in the Massachusetts gubernatorial race, while, in New Hampshire, Republican Scott Brown has pulled ahead of Democrat Jeanne Shaheen -- all television networks had already projected her victory.

10:30pm - Coakley continues to lead the gubernatorial race by one percent, with 71% of the precincts reporting.

10:20pm - With the Associated Press predicting Republican Cory Gardner winning the Colorado Senate race, the GOP has secured five seats in the chamber. The party needs just one more seat to secure a majority in the Senate.

10:14pm - Allowing casinos to stay in place, Massachusetts has rejected ballot question three, according to the Associated Press. 10:03pm - Cory Gardner (R) is projected to win the Senate race in Colorado. With another win, Republicans now have 4 out of 6 seats needed to take the Senate.

9:53pm - With Baker holding a 2% lead over Coakley with 45% reporting, Boston area precincts including Medford and Somerville are overwhelmingly favoring Coakley.

9:41pm - With 43% reporting, Baker is only leading Coakley by 1% again.

9:36pm - Richard Tisei (R) is officially conceding to Seth Moulton (D) who recently defeated Tisei in the 6th District Congressional race.

9:31pm - Seth Moulton (D) wins House of Representatives seat in 6th District.

9:26pm - The "Bottle Bill" or Question 2, which would have extended the bottle deposit law, has been rejected.

9:23pm - With 25% reporting, Baker leads Coakley by 49.8% to 45.6% in MA governor's race.

9:17pm - NBC reports Nebraska has also voted to raise the minimum wage.

9:13pm - NBC and ABC (respectively) report that Arkansas and Illinois have voted to raise the minimum wage.

9:02pm - Mike Rounds (R-SD) projected to win 3rd Senate seat for Republicans out of 6 needed to take the Senate. Republicans now have half the seats they need to do so.

8:59pm - AP reports Baker leading Coakley 50% to 45.8% with 7% reporting.

8:49pm - Polls and results coming in indicate a close race between Baker and Coakley for MA Governor.

8:42pm - ABC News predicts Jeanne Shaheen will defeat Scott Brown in the NH Senate race, but so far other news orgs have not made the same prediction.

8:39pm - With victories in West Virginia and Arkansas, Republicans have gained 2 seats in the Senate of the 6 they need to take control.

8:23pm - Results for the Coakley-Baker race for governor are still coming in, but WCVB-TV Boston political analysts anticipate a winner will be called "relatively early." Jack Reed (D) wins Senate race in Rhode Island.

8:05pm -  Several races have already been called. Ed Markey (D) wins Senate re-election in Massachusetts, Cory Booker (D) wins Senate re-election in New Jersey.

8:00pm - Polls are just closing on the East Coast. Republicans need 6 seats to take the Senate.
