4   The number of seconds remaining in the second overtime of the men's soccer team's matchup with Colby on Saturday when the Mules scored the winning goal.  The 2-1 loss in Tufts' first NESCAC contest of the season brought its record to 0-1-0 in the conference, 2-1-0 overall. Sophomore midfielder Ron Coleman came up with the Jumbos' lone score in the contest.

.938   The volleyball team's winning percentage in terms of total sets played in its first five matches this season. The Jumbos have won 15 of 16 sets played, including 3-0 sweeps over Rhode Island College, Babson, Smith and Williams in tournament play over the weekend. The only set the Jumbos have lost came in the first set of the first match of the season against Stonehill, a match Tufts eventually won 3-1.

15   The number of points that the men's cross country team earned in the 5K portion of the Jumbo Invitational Saturday. Tufts runners swept the top five finishing positions, giving it a perfect score of 15 and an easy victory over distant second- and third-place finishers Bates (50) and Anna Maria (80).

81   The number of years since the American Ryder Cup team did not have a current major champion on its roster. The American team will certainly feel the absence of Tiger Woods, who will not participate as a result of his season-ending knee surgery after his U.S. Open win earlier in the summer. The Europeans have dominated the past five of six Cups, winning by an average margin of four matches.

.477   The career-winning percentage of manager Ned Yost with the Milwaukee Brewers since he took over in 2003. Despite posting his highest winning percentage this year (.553), Yost was abruptly fired on Monday after the Brewers dropped a four-game series to the Philadelphia Phillies and lost their advantage in the NL wild card race.

141   Consecutive games in which the Ohio State Buckeyes have scored a touchdown, a streak that ended Saturday when the No. 1 USC Trojans throttled the then-No. 5 Buckeyes 35-3. Ohio State's last TD-less contest came in a matchup against rival Michigan on Nov. 23, 1996. The Wolverines defeated the Buckeyes 13-9.
