The mantra "anything you can do, I can do better" is never more apt than when it comes to rivalries between siblings. But shine the spotlight of professional sports on that competition, and things really get exciting. So in that tradition, the Daily presents our Top Ten sibling sports rivalries. Nothing like finally making mom and dad decide who they love more...
10) Eli Manning vs. Payton Manning. We only had to sit through a week of commercials, pre game specials and annoying John Madden talking heads before we finally got to see if Baby Eli could beat big brother Payton. The answer: no. But he's close.
9) John McEnroe vs. Patrick McEnroe. Johnny Mac wasn't the only McEnroe kid to grace the tennis courts. Although never as successful as John, Patrick won the 1989 French Open doubles final, and managed a career high 28 singles ranking. Now he's a commentator for CBS sports and ESPN. 8) Pedro Martinez vs. Ramon Martinez. Although Ramon warned the Dodgers organization that his younger brother Pedro was even better than him, the team still traded away the future Cy Young winner. The two were later reunited with the Boston Red Sox, where they played together for two seasons.
7) Tiki vs. Ronde Barber. They both play football, and they're twins! Adorable.
6) The DiMaggio Brothers. It was once said that Joe was the best hitter, Dom the best fielder, and Vince was the best singer.
5)The Williams Sisters: Rivalries aren't reserved simply for brothers, and Serena and Venus Williams prove just that. The two have faced each other six times in an Open final, with sister Serena holding a 5-1 record over her sis.
4)Roberto Alomar vs. Sandy Alomar: One was an All-Star second baseman, the other an All-Star catcher. The two played against one another when their respective teams, the Cleveland Indians and the Baltimore Orioles, in the 1997 ALCS. In 1999 Roberto joined his brother in Cleveland, and the two led the Indians to the ALDS.
3) Phil Niekro vs. Joe Niekro. What's crazier than a knuckleball pitcher? Two...from the same family. Papa Niekro must have taught his boys to pitch while on crack, but whatever it was, it worked, and the two combined for 539 career wins.
2) The Molina Brothers:Yadier, Jose and Bengie. They're all catchers, and one of them is good, one of them is bad, and one couldn't outrun your grandmother.
1)Jose Canseco vs. Ozzie Canseco: I think we can all agree that no one wins in this head to head battle. And yes, Mr. and Mrs. Canseco, it is too late to give them away for adoption.
