Senior Matt McCarthy was named to the New England Hockey Writers' ECAC East/NESCAC All-Star team this week. McCarthy finished the season in fifth place in the league with 35 points, including 18 goals and 17 assists in 22 appearances.
His 1.59 points per game was third-best in the league. McCarthy was also named to the All-NESCAC First Team, becoming the first Jumbo to be named All-Conference since the team joined the league for the 2001-02 season. He is one of 11 players in the NESCAC named to the team, but the lone Jumbo.
An awards banquet will be held on Apr. 13 to honor this year's selected team and its coach, Middlebury's Bill Beaney, who received Coach of the Year honors.
