Dunk tank and motocross

Members of campus fraternities and sororities came out in force yesterday to celebrate Greek Week, taking over Fletcher Field with chapter-sponsored games and activities.

The Greek-filled week was supposed to begin Monday, but that day's events were cancelled due to bad weather. Students celebrated the week yesterday instead with booths and activities set up by a variety of fraternities and sororities.

Greek Week-goers got the chance to play Twister with the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi, play bocce ball with the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon, and try to soak a member of Alpha Tau Omega at the fraternity's dunk tank. The sisters of Alpha Phi hosted an "Eat your Heart Out" eating competition to support heart disease, and the brothers of Delta Upsilon cooked up a barbeque.

Greek Week continues tomorrow with a lip-synching and dancing competition featuring some of the newest members of campus Greek organizations, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Fletcher Field. At 5:15 p.m., top freestyle motocross riders Tommy Clowers, Destin Cantrell and Myles Richmond will launch over a 75-foot gap on Professors Row in an event sponsored by Red Bull.
