Daily Digits

131   The number of shots the field hockey team has fired off in just five games this season. The Jumbos have scored on 29 of those shots, which means they've notched more goals than their opponents have attempted against them (23) this year. The team has won four of its five games by a margin of at least five goals.

0   The number of players named "Tiger Woods" the U.S. needed to win the Ryder Cup for the first time since 1999. Despite competing without the world's best player, the U.S. team defeated Europe 16.5-11.5, its largest margin of victory since 1981. Woods is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.

247   The number of rushing yards accumulated by the football team in a 20-14 win over Wesleyan on Saturday. That's the highest mark the Jumbos have reached since they totaled 335 yards on the ground against Bates on Oct. 9, 2004. The Jumbos will look for a repeat performance this weekend when they take on the Bobcats in their Homecoming game.

100   The number of World Series games played in Yankee Stadium. The stadium saw 37 of the 85 World Series that took place during its existence, with the Yankees winning 26 of them. With 161 playoff games to its name, Yankee Stadium has hosted more postseason contests than any other stadium in baseball history.

1.000   The save percentage of the women's soccer goalie tandem of junior Kate Minnehan and sophomore Hannah Jacobs. The two have combined for one total save, as Tufts has allowed only a single shot on goal in its first two games of the season, blanking both conference opponents. Shutouts are nothing new to the Jumbos, who recorded seven in 18 games last year.

67   The number of passing attempts by Brian Griese of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in an overtime win against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, which set a franchise record and fell just three attempts short of the NFL record. Griese, who this week supplanted Jeff Garcia as the Bucs' starter, tallied 407 yards and two touchdowns (but also threw three interceptions in the game).
