Pickard wins TCU presidency

Sophomore Duncan Pickard won Wednesday's Tufts Community Union presidency yesterday, capping a campaign in which he touted his leadership skills and vision for a more unified Tufts student body.

"We're going to make some really big and important changes on this campus that are really going to improve the lives of students for years to come," Pickard said last night.

Pickard took 42 percent of first-choice votes in the three-way election. Opponents C.J. Mourning and Elton Sykes won 32 percent and 26 percent, respectively. Pickard beat Mourning, 56 percent to 44 percent, in an instant runoff.
