Editors' Challenge | Week 10

With another strong week from Eds' Challenge superstar Liz "Landslide" Hoffman, it's beginning to look like a race for second place.

Three challengers are five games out of first, making for an intriguing race to the finish line. Week 10, however, looks to be a fairly boring week, with clear-cut choices pretty much across the board.

Evans "Simpleton" Clinchy has made all the obvious choices, while his two closest competitors have strayed just a bit. Tim "Mustachio Bashio" Judson picked his beloved Dolphins over Buffalo, breaking the sacred rule of "Never go with your sentimental favorite"; meanwhile, Ethan "Coen" Landy picked Atlanta over Carolina, violating the simple commandment "Thou shalt not pick the Falcons -- ever."

Alex "Dillhole" Bloom also let his emotions get the best of him, picking his overmatched hometown Eagles against Dallas. Dropping out of the massive second-place tie, Bloom now finds himself at 83-47, just one game ahead of Ross "A-Pet!" Marrinson. Week 9 was a record-setting week for Minnesotans everywhere; just as Adrian Peterson rushed for 296 yards, Marrinson won 12 games. Both were probably flukes.

Rachel "Deteriorating Corneas" Dolin may be too blind to watch football, but she still managed to join the ranks of the 80-game winners Monday night. Sapna "I Heart J-Wiggle" Bansil is two games behind her.

Carly "Wait, why am I last?" Helfand brings up the rear again, having fallen deeper into ninth with an 8-6 week. At least she was two games better than last week's guest Matt Skibinski, quite possibly the worst guest picker ever. No offense, Matt.

Senior Cat Beck of the women's cross country team offers her guest picks. We consider her the first actual cross country captain in Eds' Challenge history.
