Letter to the Editor | Two promises from JumboCast

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter in regards to Cole Liberator's column, "Hot Peas and Butter," that appeared on Mar. 6, 2006. As president and general manager of JumboCast, I would like to thank Cole for getting our name out there. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed his piece.

With that being said, I'd like to make a few points clear.

First: The audio delay was a consequence of using the SUNY Cortland video feed, which did not sync up with our audio stream.

Secondly: While the Cortland fans were busy raining down bricks in a futile attempt to make one free throw, the Tufts professors were pouring on the tests for our group members, thus limiting our staff availability this past weekend.

However, for the upcoming Tufts/Amherst match, we will have our full staff and equipment, meaning that we will have not only the scores on screen (with synced up audio/video), but a running clock as well.

Again, we had a great time reading Cole's column; Elton even sent a copy of it home to his mother.

We want to let everyone know that this weekend, the Tufts-Amherst game will be broadcast live on JumboCast, available from our Web page, http://www.jumbocast.com, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday night.

At this time, I can make two promises: 1.) We'll be at the game along with Cole, and 2.) We will be without the likes of Tim McCarver, Bill Walton and Steve "Snapper" Jones.

Thank you.
