What’s up this weekend

Looking to make your weekend artsy? Check out these events!

Charles Burney’s Musical Tour: Annette Richards and David Yearsley will play a combination of harpsichord, chamber organ and fortepiano to bring to life their imaginings of a night in Dr. Charles Burney’s household. The famed English musician and historian of the 18th century will be celebrated with pieces by composers like Handel and Roman Bernardo Pasquini. The doctor’s written commentary will be presented during the program along with video projections, produced by the new collective Hyphen, that celebrate and reimagine the doctor’s musical travels throughout Europe. (Saturday beginning at 8 p.m. in the Distler Performance Hall, Granoff Music Center. Tickets are free with a student ID with a limit of two tickets per person. Tickets are $10 each for general admission.)

Sunday Community Concert Series -- Reflections on Time and Mortality: Resident faculty pianist Thomas Stumpf will comment on the humorous and serious sides of mortality, exploring this duality through the work of composers such as Chopin and Rachmaninoff, along with world premieres of new pieces by Stumpf and John MacDonald. (Sunday at 3 p.m. in Distler Performance Hall. Admission is free.)

Major: Undecided presents The Spaghettisburg Address: "Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth onto this Barnum 008 stage, a sketch comedy group, conceived in tomfoolery, and dedicated to the proposition that all deserve spaghetti," the Facebook event proudly proclaims. Join Major: Undecided for a new show that features fresh antics and plenty of references to pasta. (Friday at 9 p.m. in Barnum 008. Tickets can be picked up at the Cohen Auditorium Box Office and are free with a Tufts ID.)

Shark Saddle & Kenneth Postigo @ Res Quad: Join campus band Shark Saddle as they groove with Tufts sophomore Kenneth Postigo during a concert event that is sure to start the weekend off right. (Saturday at 5 p.m. on the Res Quad. Admission is free.)
